The Turkish bus manufacturer Temsa presented two new
electric bus models at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Stockholm:
the Avenue Electron and MD 9 electriCITY. The 12 meter long Avenue Electron
with 35 seats offers capacity for 85 passengers and can be ordered immediately.
According to the manufacturer, the electric bus has a range of 250 kilometres
and is to be extended to 350 km in the future. Temsa estimates the charging
time at three hours.
The MD9 electriCITY 9-meter electric bus, which was
also presented, was designed for narrow roads and “relatively rough road
conditions”. This electric bus has a range of 230 kilometres. With the upcoming
version of the vehicle, the range will be increased to 300 km according to
Temsa.
The Turkish vehicle manufacturer has been producing
electric buses for some time now, and according to their own data, have a total
of nearly 15 thousand vehicles on the roads in 66 countries around the world.
Temsa announced at the conference that they were committed to the global
transformation to smart cities with eco-friendly, silent models. Yildirim said
that “we are one of the handful of automotive brands worldwide that can offer
customers multiple electric vehicle alternatives and we look forward to taking
a leading role in this transformation.”
