Following its unveiling earlier this year, Audi has
announced the 2020 S7 will be priced from US$ 83,900 in the United States. Available in two different trims,
the standard S7 comes equipped with a platinum Singleframe grille, sportier bumpers
and special side skirts. The model also has a four-tailpipe exhaust system and
aluminum-optic accents on the front splitter and mirror caps. Other highlights
include a black matte chrome rear diffuser and 20-inch wheels with summer
performance tires.
Moving into the cabin, drivers will find a digital
instrument cluster and Valcona leather sport seats with diamond stitching. The
model also has a four-zone automatic climate control system, a Bang &
Olufsen premium audio system and a top-view camera system that provides a 360°
view around the vehicle. There’s also GPS navigation, a 10.1-inch infotainment
system and a lower 8.6-inch display.
An assortment of options will be available including
dual pane acoustic glass and a black optic package that adds black exterior
accents and 21-inch wheels with an anthracite finish. Customers can also
upgrade to the S7 Prestige which starts at $89,500 and includes additional
equipment such as HD Matrix LED headlights with laser light technology.
Power is provided by a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6
engine that produces 444 hp and 601 Nm torque.
This gives the model 109 hp and 100 Nm of torque
more than the A7.
The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic
transmission and a standard quattro all-wheel drive system. This setup enables
the hatchback to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Besides the powerful engine, the S7 has an adaptive
air suspension and beefier brakes. Enthusiasts can also order an optional sport
suspension and an S Sport Package. The latter adds dynamic all-wheel steering
and a quattro differential that promises “increased maneuverability at all
speeds.” The package also includes a sports exhaust system and red brake calipers.
