The Lexus LX is a comfortable and capable
off-roader, but that hasn’t stopped the company from giving the model a Sport
package for 2020. Available exclusively on the three-row variant, the Sport package is
limited to cosmetic changes. Starting on the outside, the model is
distinguished by a unique grille and an extended front fascia that appears to
be sourced from the TRD parts catalog.
The package also adds a revised rear valence and body-color side mirrors
with chrome accents.
Interior changes are minor, but the SUV comes nicely
equipped with a black headliner and semi-aniline leather seats. The latter are
available in three colors including Black, Cabernet and exclusive Moonlight
White.
Besides offering special seat upholstery, the LX
Sport comes standard with the Luxury package. It adds heated / ventilated
seats, a four-zone automatic climate control system and a 19-speaker Mark
Levinson surround sound system. Other niceties include a heated steering wheel,
a head up display and a wireless smartphone charger. Rounding out the
highlights are 21-inch alloy wheels and projector door lamps.
Besides the aforementioned equipment, the LX comes
with an assortment of driver assistance systems. In particular, the Lexus Safety
System+ includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane
departure alert and all-speed dynamic radar cruise control.
The LX Sport has a
5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 383 hp and 546 Nm of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends
power to a standard four-wheel drive system. The 2020 Lexus LX 570 will go on
sale in September and pricing starts at US$ 83,280. The three-row model begins at US$ 91,380 while the LX with the Sport package has a base price of US$ 99,300.
