Subaru has launched the production of the new 2020
Legacy and Outback models at its Indiana factory in the U.S. The production launch of the
all-new 2020 Legacy and Outback models was accompanied by a ceremony for the factory
employees.
Subaru’s new mid-size models benefit from the
company’s latest global platform which gives them much better rigidity and
refinement, as well as improved handling and safety. The new Legacy and the new
Outback can be optioned with either a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter flat-four
unit or a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine.
Base models come with 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque,
while the turbo XT models offer 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. In both cases,
customers are stuck with a CVT transmission, which is the sole option, and of
course the company’s trademark Symmetrical AWD system as standard.
Other new features of the 2020 Subaru Legacy and
Outback include a wide range of driver assistance and connectivity systems and
an optional tablet-style 11.6-inch infotainment system with both Android Auto
and Apple CarPlay.
Subaru will launch the new 2020 Legacy and Outback
in the U.S. market this fall.
