Just when you
thought the Bentley Bentayga was already the ultimate exercise in excess, Inkas
Armored has unveiled an armored version of the luxurious British SUV. Inkas
says its armored Bentayga has been designed to meet CEN 1063 BR6 ballistic
standards and includes 360-degree, floor-to-roof coverage.
Limited details are
offered about what materials have been used in the project, but a press release
from the company says the SUV can withstand fire from high-power rifles like
AK47s and AR10s as well as the simultaneous detonation of two DM51 grenades
placed under the vehicle’s floor.
The company’s
Bentley Bentayga has also been equipped with emergency lights behind the front
grille, a siren and a PA system. Customers wanting the ultimate in protection
can also opt for tailpipe protection, a smoke screen system, electric door
handles, and an engine bay fire suppression system.
Inkas was keen not
to mess with the powertrain of the Bentayga and kept it standard meaning the
6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 continues to pump out 600 HP and 900
Nm of torque sending power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic
transmission. All of the luxurious elements found within the cabin of the
Bentayga have also been maintained.
Consequently, there
is a head-up display, lane keep assist, 360-degree parking aid with park
assist, configurable ambient interior lighted, a heated wood and leather
steering wheel, pumping surround sound system, and massage seats.
We don’t have
pricing details available for the armored Bentayga but can say with the utmost
confidence that it isn’t cheap.
