Roughly a month after the EXP 100 GT Concept was
revealed online, the car celebrated its U.S. debut at the Monterey Car Week. To
capture the moment, Bentley snapped some photos of the eye-catching concept on
the Monterey Peninsula.
The EXP 100 GT Concept celebrates the British
automaker’s centenary, and it was only fitting to visit Monterey as the marque
had a strong and consistent presence throughout the various events held during
the week.
First up, the concept was showcased at The Quail, a
Motorsports Gathering before being moved to the Home Of Bentley and, last but
not least, being a star on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours
d’Elegance.
Elsewhere, numerous other Bentleys, old and new,
could be found throughout the various events in and around Monterey. For
example, no less than 21 models lapped the Laguna Seca Raceway as part of a
special Centenary Parade. Among them were three 1929 4.5-liter Blowers, the
record-breaking Pikes Peak Bentley Continental GT and the new Continental GT V8
Convertible.
Sunday’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance included
more than 60 different Bentleys competing in the six individual classes across
the show field. A 1931 8 Liter Gurney Nutting Sports Tourer was awarded the
prestigious ‘Best of Show’ award at the event.
Bentley doesn’t intend on bringing the EXP 100 GT to
production and says that it simply previews the types of vehicles the company
wants to make in the future. It is powered by an all-electric powertrain with
four electric motors for a combined 1,340 HP and 1491 Nm of
torque.
