Kean Suspensions has unveiled a customized De Tomaso
Pantera. Let us see what kind of upgrades the Italian classics received. On a side note, a total of 7,260
Pantera vehicle have been produced in the period from 1971 through 1993, each
shipping with its own drivetrain configuration and nominal power output. The
factory-measured power varied between 280 and 500 hp, but the
actual amounts of torque delivered to the wheels varied based on transmission
types, exhaust filters in use, etc.
This particular De Tomaso Pantera by Kean
Suspensions sports a V8 engine originally rated at 427 hp. The team
managed to get its performance up to an impressive 600 bhp while
keeping the stock manual transmission in place.
The fully restored ‘Panther’ rides on a Kean Airride
suspension kit with the AccuAir E-Level Management system for precise height
tuning.
Other notable features include carbon air intakes at
both sides of the front bumper, Makrolon polycarbonate windows with vent panes,
an internal roll cage, leather-wrapped bucket seats, and modern safety
harnesses. Wrapping up the list of modifications to this De Tomaso Pantera are
Sköl SK11 wheels with ultra-deep rims (17”x11” front, 18”15” rear). Needless to
say, accommodating wheels as broad as these necessitated extending the wheel
arches in no small way.
