Mountune has
revealed an extreme tuning program for the Ford Focus RS. In its stock guise,
the hot hatch has a 2.3-liter turbocharged V4 engine with 350 hp at
the crank.
Mountune has
launched two different tuning kits for the model. Both swap the standard
turbocharger out for a BorgWarner EFR Series one. The m450 kit helps the
hatchback to 450 hp and 580 Nm of torque, whereas the
m520 MRX package brings along 520 hp and 700 Nm. Aside
from the turbo add-on, both include new camshafts, fuel systems, injection
components etc.
Acceleration times
remain unannounced. The m450 version of the upgrade costs £ 3000, while the m520
is almost twice as expensive. The next-gen Ford Focus RS should emerge in about
two years packing a 400-hp engine in the most basic version.
