W Motors claims that a Japanese businessman has
purchased no less than five examples of the Fenyr SuperSport Launch Edition. The vehicle was first unveiled to
the world towards the end of 2015 and in following years, the car has been
shown off at events around the world. The company’s first production vehicle,
the Lykan HyperSport, was capped at just seven units but according to our
sources, most of those remain unsold.
In comparison to the HyperSport, the Fenyr
SuperSport is slightly more approachable but evidently, has also proved to be
quite difficult for W Motors to sell. The company’s statement that a Japanese
businessman purchased the final five of ten planned Launch Edition models
suggests that in the near four years since the car’s unveiling, only 10 orders
have been placed.
The Arab-Lebanese car manufacturer has posted a
series of renderings of the SuperSport online and asked its fans to guess which
colors the Japanese purchaser opted for. Among the colors previewed are light
blue, yellow, dark grey, white, red, green, purple, silver, dark blue, and orange.
Powering the Fenyr SuperSport is a 3.8-liter
flat-six engine sourced from RUF that pumps out a total of 800 hp and 980 Nm of torque. W Motors claims the supercar hits 100 km/h in 2.7
seconds, 200 km/h in 9.4 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 395 km/h. These figures are impressive but the fact that prices start at US$ 1.4 million and so few have been sold suggests that many supercar enthusiasts
and collectors would rather spend their money elsewhere.
