Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ertiga CNG at INR
8.88 lakh* and the Tour M CNG (Ertiga taxi CNG) at INR 8.83 lakh*. Based on the
VXI trim of the regular model, the CNG variant costs almost INR 71,000 more in comparison
to the petrol variant which is priced at INR 8.16 lakh*.
The CNG variant of the Ertiga is rated to deliver a
fuel efficiency of 26.20 km/kg and can accommodate 60 litres of CNG at once. It
does not benefit from Suzuki’s SHVS smart hybrid system. Maruti has added an
Intelligent Injection System and dual interdependent ECUs for ideal
performance. Furthermore, the CNG variant has an Auto-Fuel switch as well, for
seamless fuel switching operations. Under the hood, there's the K15B 1.5-litre
petrol engine which generates 104 PS and 138 Nm running on petrol
and 92 PS and 122 Nm in the CNG mode. A 5-speed manual transmission
is standard.
Being based on the VXI trim, the Ertiga CNG is
offered with safety features such as dual airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist,
engine immobilizer, speed sensor lock, child lock rear door and parking
sensors. The passenger version is available in White, Silver, Magma Gray, Red
and Blue colours, while the taxi version comes in White, Silver and Black colours.
Maruti Suzuki is offering a standard 2-year/40,000 km warranty on the CNG
variant of the Ertiga.
In other updates, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to
launch the Ertiga-based XL6 in the Indian market. It has been spied a number of
times in the past and will be launched on 21 August 2019. Unlike the Ertiga, it
will be a six-seater and be sold through Maruti Suzuki's premium dealership
network, Nexa.
