The Ertiga joins
the league of other BS-VI ready products from Maruti Suzuki including Alto,
Baleno, Swift, and the Wagon R. The Ertiga is the most popular offering in its
segment. This month, the cumulative sales of second-gen Ertiga, which was
launched in November 2018, crossed 61,000 units. On average, Maruti Suzuki is
selling over 8,000 units every month. Also, just days before announcing this
milestone, the company launched the Ertiga CNG variant priced at INR 8.88
lakh*. The Ertiga regularly remains in the list of top 5 best selling UVs in
India, and last month it ranked at fourth place with a total of 7,567 units
sold.
On 21 August,
Maruti Suzuki will launch an Ertiga-based 6-seater MPV named XL6. This model
will have a more aggressive design and be plusher in terms of equipment. It
will be sold through the NEXA dealerships.
The Maruti Ertiga
diesel, available in 1.3L and 1.5L engine models, won't get the BS-VI upgrade.
