The new Porsche Macan that was revealed
internationally in July last year has been launched in India today, with prices
starting at INR 69.98 lakh*. The entry-price of the facelifted model is INR
10.4 lakh lower compared to that of the earlier model. Two variants are
available: the Macan and the Macan S. The latter is priced at INR 85.03 lakh*.
Originally launched in 2014, the Macan has been one
of the widely famous Porsche models globally. The facelifted Macan features a
slew of subtle cosmetic changes which take inspiration from the third-gen
Cayenne. The front-end looks wider and includes new LED headlights with
signature four-LED fixtures each. The air-intakes have grown, and one more new
element is the sleek LED strip on that double up as turn indicator located on
their fins. On the sides, there are new alloy wheels available in 20- and
21-inch sizes. Coming to the rear, the most prominent change is the new,
connected tail lamps.
On the inside, the facelifted Macan comes with a
revised dashboard which includes a new Porsche Communication Management (PCM)
with a 10.9-inch touchscreen display. Also, its standard equipment list
includes an anti-theft alarm system with interior surveillance. Furthermore, it
gets 911-inspired three-spoke GT sports steering wheel, electric seats with 14
memory settings, heated front windshield and an air ioniser for the climate
control.
The new Porsche Macan is available with only petrol
engine options, which include a 2.0-litre unit (245 PS/370 Nm) in the standard
variant and a 3.0-litre unit (354 PS/480 Nm) in the S variant. The 2.0-litre
engine's maximum power output has been declined by 7 PS, while the 3.0-litre
engine's maximum power has been increased by 14 PS. Other performance updates include
newly developed tyres and an enhanced chassis for improved handling abilities.
Also, Sport Chrono package is available in both the variants. This package includes performance aids such
as launch control, driving modes, upgraded gearbox maps for quciker gearshifts,
dynamic transmission mounts and a stopwatch for laps timings. Also, the
mid-size luxury SUV comes with Porsche Active Suspension Management for better
handling dynamics around the corners.
Internationally, with the facelift, the Porsche Macan
has gained four new exterior colour options - Miami Blue, Mamba Green Metallic,
Dolomite Silver Metallic and Crayon.
