This is the Peugeot 3008 Concept, a one-off version showing the SUV kitted out in an adventure-ready specification. The vehicle, created for a feature in Top Gear magazine, successfully tackled the northern section of the Ho Chi Minh trail in Vietnam as part of an epic on- and off-road drive.

The special is based on a 1.6 litre PureTech GT Line model, but was naturally given a series of subtle all-terrain enhancements to help it accomplish the task. A set of 17-inch steel wheels and Cooper AT3 off-road tyres were fitted, as was underbody protection, in the form of a front skid plate.

The company also added an LED light bar at the front of the Rival aluminium roof rack to provide extra illumination, and also fitted a fully-retractable ARB Simpson expedition-style roof tent and a bicycle rack at the rear to fit a Peugeot trail bike for additional two-wheeled adventures.

Completing the makeover is a unique exterior wrap. Having completed the run successfully, it probably won’t be a surprise to see the automaker coming up with a more rugged version of the SUV in the future, or at least kit that will give buyers the option of an off-road package for the car.
