The 2020 Renault Kwid has been finally spied without
camouflage, that too in the more rugged, Climber variant, courtesy Auto
Punditz. The mid-life facelift has almost entirely transformed the way
Renault's entry-level car looks at the front.
The new Renault Kwid features high-set LED DRLs, new
radiator grille, two-tier headlamps and a sportier lower grille. In comparison
to the pre-facelift model, the new model looks more sophisticated because of
the updated front fascia. Its side profile now also gets newly designed wheels
while the overall silhouette remains unchanged. At the rear, the combination
lamps have been tweaked and they should likely have C-shaped tail lights, and
reflectors have been added.
On the inside, previous images have revealed that
the 2020 Renault Kwid will receive Renault Triber's LED instrument cluster and
8-inch MediaNAV Evolution touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay
and Android Auto, along with a new steering wheel. Apart from that, new
upholstery and trim is also expected to freshen up the cabin space.
The 2020 Renault Kwid (facelift) will be sold with
the same 0.8-litre SCe petrol engine (54 PS/72 Nm) and 1.0-litre SCe petrol
engine (68 PS/91 Nm), but both the engines will likely be updated, BS-VI
versions. Expect 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual units to be
offered as transmission choices. The 2020 Renault Kwid (facelift) will compete with the upcoming
Maruti S-Presso which is slated for 30 September 2019 launch.
