Jaguar is working on the mid-life refresh of the
F-Pace, with our spies spotting a camouflaged test car parked on a public road
in Spain. In fact the car was fully covered with the swirly wrap and had even
its exhausts under a protective cover. The facelift is expected to bring new
headlights and taillights employing the latest advancements in LED technology,
redesigned bumpers and side skirts and a whole slew of updated active safety
features.
The interior is also getting an upgrade, similar to
that of the facelifted XE; that means that the F-Pace is getting a healthy dose
of new displays inside, including a new digital instrument cluster, a bigger
infotainment screen and a touchscreen for the HVAC controls. The new onboard tech will be
paired with new trim and color options, a redesigned steering wheel and gear
selector, as well as ambient lighting.
The main changes however will come in the powertrain
department; the F-Pace will continue being offered with a range of turbocharged
2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol units, as well as a few diesel options for
customers in Europe. Jaguar is also expected to add the new inline-six mild-hybrid
3.0-liter unit, which makes 395 HP and 550 Nm of torque in the case
of the Range Rover Sport and Land Rover Defender.
We still don’t know if the V8-powered F-Pace SVR
will survive the facelift but if we had to take a guess, we would say it will,
since the high-performance SUV has been on the market for less than a year. Jaguar is expected to reveal the
facelifted version of the F-Pace some time in early 2020, with a market launch
to take place a few months later. Until then, stay tuned.
