BAIC Group has started sales of its new all-electric
sedan/saloon called the Beijing EU7 in China. The car is largely based on the
Senova U7 .
The executive car boasts a three-box design and
packs a proprietary EV powertrain that incorporates an electric motor rated at
218 hp and a bottom-mounted traction battery. The battery size is not
available, but the manufacturer claims the car has 450 kilometers of NEDC-rated range.
Other main features include front-wheel drive,
multilink spring-based suspension for extra comfort in long tours, a climate
control system, a panoramic roof, a 12-inch multimedia, a digital dash, and a
360-degree car camera system.
With the state subsidies applied, the Beijing EU7
starts from 160,000 Chinese Yuan on its domestic market (US$ 22,500).
