A year ago, Baojun
rebranded its 530 SUV into second-gen Chevrolet Captiva for South America. Now,
the same vehicle is being launched on the Thai market with an added seat row
and some extra options.
The Captiva seven-seater
retains the exact dimensions of its five-seat predecessor, measuring 4,655 mm long, 1,835 mm wide and 1,760 mm tall with
the wheelbase spanning 2,750 mm. Depending on the trim
configuration, the curb weight varies between 1,520 and 1,630 kilograms. The front axle takes advantage of McPherson suspension struts,
while the rear axle uses an independent multilink suspension design. The drive
is on the front axle.
Those sitting in the
back row have access to their own air deflectors, USB ports and cup holders.
The standard trim ships with two airbags, a multimedia system with a 10.4-inch
display, a rear view cam, a roll stabilization system, and rear parking
sensors. Higher trims bring along an audio system with a subwoofer, a panoramic
glass roof, LED headlights, front parking sensors, and four airbags.
All versions
invariably ship with the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine
capable of 143 hp and 250 Nm, connected to a CVT.
