Aussies with a soft spot for BMW M cars and enough
money in the bank will soon be able to place an order for the new M4 Edition M
Heritage. Here’s the thing, though: out of the 750 examples that will be
manufactured, only six are set to arrive Down Under, in three different
versions, named Edition 1, Edition 2 and Edition 3, with an AUD 167,529 (US$ 113,371) starting price, so prospective customers better hurry up to secure
one.
Available in Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue or Imola
Red II, all of them boast decorative strips, bespoke carbon fiber trim in the
typical BMW M colors and carbon fiber roof. Other highlights include 20-inch
light alloy wheels finished in Orbit Grey, ‘Edition M Heritage’ embroidering in
the headrests and ‘Edition M Heritage X/750’ lettering on the interior CFRP
trim and door sills.
The Edition 1 comes with the Laguna Seca Blue
exterior on top of the Silverstone/Black Merino leather interior with turquoise
contrast stitching. Edition 2 sports the Velvet Blue metallic color on the
outside and the same two-tone leather upholstery, albeit with Velvet
Blue/Orange contrast stitching. Finished in Imola Red II, the Edition 3 boasts
Red/Black Merino leather on the inside, with Red/Yellow contrast stitching. Each
car gets a wide selection of standard gear, including wireless smartphone
charging.
Like the rest of the outgoing M4 lineup, the Edition
M Heritage packs a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo inline-six that makes 444 HP and 550 Nm of torque. The 0-100 km/h sprint is
dispatched in 4.0 seconds and (officially, at least) average fuel consumption
stands at 8.8 l/100 km (26.7 mpg US / 32.1 mpg UK) and CO2 emissions at 204
g/km.
