The Fiat Panda is certainly not something associated
with luxury, but Fiat has nevertheless teamed up with Trussardi
to create a new special edition. Built in cooperation with the renowned Italian brand, it is described
as the first “luxury Panda.” Based on the Cross pseudo-crossover variant, the
Panda Trussardi boasts a new Caffè Italiano Brown livery with contrasting black
accents and a posh interior featuring the Trussardi touch.
The exterior paint is the first matte livery in the
history of the Panda and is embellished with the Trussardi logo on the rear
door ornaments and the luxury brand’s Greyhound symbol on the third side window
and at the center of the alloys.
The Caffè Italiano Brown livery is also available as
a metallic paint, with the color palette also including Gelato White, Cinema
Black and Colosseo Grey. Other exclusive exterior details are black roof bars,
rearview mirror caps, 15-inch alloy wheels and skid plates.
The interior is where the
connection with the luxury brand is most noticeable. The Panda Trussardi sports
a brown melange weave on the seat upholstery, seat sides in black
techno-leather embellished with brown stitching, new door panel inserts
reproducing the fashion house’s logo, and Trussardi lettering on the exclusive
floor mats and seat belts. Other unique features include the dashboard’s Caffè
Italiano Brown finish and Trussardi logo on the steering wheel.
The new edition comes with a comprehensive list of
equipment, with standard features including the Uconnect Mobile infotainment
with support for mobile devices, and Autonomous City Brake, among others.
Customers can opt for either a 69 PS 1.2-liter or a 85 PS TwinAir 0.9-liter gasoline engine and, this being essentially a tarted-up Panda
Cross, front- or all-wheel drive.
The special edition city car is the first model to
spring from the partnership between Fiat and Trussardi. The fashion brand is an
expert in leather goods and gloves, which were the first products it made when
it started out in 1911.
