The Korean Car Blog has posted a photo allegedly
showing the interior of the next-gen Kia Optima. The inside of the car now
reminds us of the Kia Telluride, the marque’s flagship SUV.
Confirmed changes include a new infotainment system
with a large touchscreen display, a different steering wheel, and a redesigned
center tunnel. Both the multimedia and the climate controls are now
sensor-based.
The fifth generation of the executive sedan/saloon
will arrive on the market packing a new 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 286
hp at its disposal. An eight-speed automatic transmission will be
tasked with delivering the torque to all four wheels. To compare, the
fourth-gen Optima comes with naturally aspirated engines 2.0 and 2.4
liters large. In all likelihood, these will be discontinued.
