Car manufacturing company Luxgen was founded 10
years ago, but never had much success selling its vehicles. Its newest SUV,
called the URX, should attempt to remedy the situation.
According to the automaker, the abbreviation stands
for ‘Utility Recreation Crossover’. The car packs an infotainment system with
voice control support and a Tesla-style 12-inch display with the instrument
cluster and virtually all the necessary controls on it.
The Luxgen URX boasts a leather-draped interior,
climate control, AEB, adaptive cruise control, lane control, panoramic glass
roof, all-around view cameras, and electric tailgate. A third seat row is a
paid option.
Powering the vehicle is a purpose-built 1.8-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder engine which has been developed in collaboration
with French engine designer Le Moteur Moderne. The mill sends up to 202 hp and 300 Nm of torque to the front wheels through an Aisin
six-speed automatic transmission.
The Luxgen URX should come out in Taiwan later this
year.
