A couple photos of the facelifted Chinese variant of
the Skoda Rapid have recently surfaced online. Based on these, it looks like
the car will give off Scala vibes in its next incarnation.
Novelty comes in the form of a revised front fascia
complete with triangular headlights, newly designed bumpers, horizontal, multi-section
tailgate lights, and the word ‘Skoda’ instead of the logo.
Chances are best that nothing will change on the
technical side of things. The car will likely still ship with the old naturally
aspirated engine with 1.5 liters of displacement room, 110 hp and 150
Nm. Transmission choices will be limited to six-speed auto and
five-speed manual.
Whether the cabin will also be updated remains
unknown, and no pricing details are available to date. Watch the video if you would like
a short overview of the latest-gen Skoda Rapid in its China market
implementation.
