Mahindra has confirmed that it will launch the XUV300 with a non-turbo 1.2L petrol engine. This new 1.2L petrol engine will presumably be a GDI unit based on the non-turbo 1.2L petrol MPFI (MPI) unit of the Mahindra KUV100. At the moment, this engine has been confirmed only for the Euro-spec XUV300.

The Mahindra KUV100's non-turbo 1.2L MPFi three-cylinder petrol engine develops 82 PS and 115 Nm of torque. While the Euro-spec XUV300's 1.2L non-turbo GDI engine will certainly deliver comparatively greater output figures in order to suit the vehicle's character, it's safe to assume that they won't be as high as those of the turbocharged MPFI version that powers the Indian-spec XUV300.


In addition to European markets, the Mahindra XUV300 will be launched in Australia and New Zealand. The SsangYong Tivoli on which this sub-4 metre SUV is based is sold in these markets. The latter will be positioned as a relatively cheaper offering, the one skimping on various safety features among others. Australia and New Zealand will get this model later this year, while the European launch will is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2020.

In India, Mahindra introduced the XUV300 AMT in July. The Mahindra XUV300 AMT is INR 55,000 costlier than the Mahindra XUV300 (MT). The AMT option is offered only in the W8 grade w/o the option pack. It demands a premium of INR 11.50 lakh* in the W8 grade and INR 12.70 lakh* in the W8 (O) grade.
