The premium variant of the latest Wagon R rumoured
to be sold through the NEXA dealerships has been spied yet again. The latest
sighting reveals that it will feature split headlamps, which will be a first
for any hatchback in India.
In the same way as the Maruti XL6 derived from the
Maruti Ertiga, the premium variant of the latest Maruti Wagon R will pack a
more stylish exterior and more advanced equipment if it'll be a NEXA product.
In addition to the split headlamps, it will flaunt a unique design for the
upper grille, lower grille and the front bumper, repositioned fog lamps,
15-inch black alloy wheels and LED tail lamps and high-mounted stop lamp. This
premium variant could be given a completely new identity following the same
strategy as the XL6.
The premium variant of the latest Maruti Wagon R
would be offered in an additional paint option that is exclusive to all the
vehicles sold through NEXA - NEXA Blue. The interior design will likely be the
same, but there might be a few differences such as unique trim and upholstery
and additional comfort and convenience features.
In terms of engines, the premium Wagon R may use the
same 1.0- and 1.2L petrol engine options as its donor model. The smaller BS-IV
K10B three-cylinder engine is rated to deliver 68 PS of max power at
5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. The bigger BS-VI K12M
four-cylinder engine pushes out 83 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm
and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4,200 rpm. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated
manual should be the transmission choices.
