The Maruti
S-Presso has been slated for
30 September 2019 launch. The micro-SUV has been spied in its base STD variant
for the first time. As opposed to previous speculations, this model won't
replace Maruti Alto K10.
The Maruti S-Presso
is expected to be priced from around INR 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It is clear
from the new spy image that the STD variant of the S-Presso features steel
wheels without covers, basic black coloured bumpers, body-coloured B-pillar,
black ORVMs and black door handles. While on the inside, it has been reported
that the STD variant will miss out on an air conditioner and power steering.
There will be three higher variants, namely LXi, VXi and VXi+.
The range-topping
VXi+ variant will be equipped with standard features like 7.0-inch SmartPlay
Studio infotainment system with voice recognition, steering-mounted controls,
rear parcel tray, body-coloured ORVMs and door handles, and a 12V-volt
accessory socket. This variant will receive front passenger airbag as standard,
a safety feature that will be optional in the lower variants. Unlike on in its
competitor Renault Kwid, a reverse camera won't be available.
Based on the
Heartect platform, the Maruti S-Presso will make use of a BS-VI 1.0-litre K10B
petrol engine which generates 68 PS of maximum power and 90 Nm of peak torque
in its BS-IV version. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual are expected
to be the transmission choices.
