Electric scooter manufacturer Okinawa has launched the third product in the Praise family of scooters. Called Okinawa PraisePro, the electric scooter is positioned below the flagship Okinawa iPraise and costs INR 71,990 (ex-showroom, pan-India).

Powering the Okinawa PraisePro is a brushless, waterproof DC motor with a power output of 1 kW (rated)/2.5 kW (peak). The source of energy is a detachable 2 kWh lithium-ion battery which can be fully charged in 3 hours. There are three riding modes available to select from: Economy (top speed of 30-35 km/h), Sport (top speed of 50-60 km/h) and Turbo (top speed of 65-70 km/h). The range is 88 km if riding in Sport mode or 110 km if riding in Economy mode. The range in Turbo mode is yet to be revealed.


Okinawa claims that the new scooter can climb an incline of 15-degrees. Braking system includes discs at both ends assisted by electronic ABS. The scooter also utilises regenerative braking. The suspension system includes telescopic fork up front and twin springs with dual tube technology at the rear. The Okinawa PraisePro has a kerb weight of 150 kg, a ground clearance of 175 mm and an underseat storage space of 7 litres.

Key features include LED headlamps and taillamps, CNC machined adjustable brake levers, central locking with anti-theft alarm and USB mobile charging. A unique motor walk assist (front and reverse motion at a leisure pace of 5 km/h) is also on offer. Interestingly, the scooter utilises halogen bulb-based indicators at the front and LEDs at the rear.

Okinawa claims that PraisePro has an ultra-low running cost of 20 paise/kilometre. The scooter is shod with 90/90 specification tubeless tyres at both ends over 12-inch rims. Colour options include Red Black and Sparkle Black. Both of these options bear a glossy finish.
