Alpina unveiled its big-grilled B7 xDrive super-limo back in March at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, claiming that it was quicker, faster and more refined than its predecessor. In reality, the differences are quite negligible as far as straight line performance is concerned. Compared to the old B7, this 2020 model is quicker to 96 km/h by 0.1 seconds and faster overall by 18 km/h, with its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 600 HP and 800 Nm of torque.

What is clearly different about this car is its styling, as it takes after BMW’s updated 7-Series saloon. So aside from the redesigned front fascia and the new taillights, the German tuner added a new front bumper with functional air intakes, free-floating Alpina lettering, a new rear spoiler, quad tailpipes and exclusive paint finishes such as Alpina Blue Metallic and Green Metallic.

If you want your B7 to look a little more understated, you could opt for one similar to this particular model, spotted at BMW’s Abu Dhabi dealership. It features a Citrin Black Metallic exterior, to go with its dual-tone Mandarin/Mocha interior.

The cabin also features a custom Alpina badge on the steering wheel, a custom Alpina design for the digital instrument panel and, according to the tuner, improved acoustic comfort where laminated glass with an increased thickness of 0.2 inches was used for the windshield, side windows and rear window.

As for what those previously-mentioned performance improvements mean on paper, the 2020 Alpina B7 can accelerate to 96 km/h in 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.7 sec), before maxing out at 330 km/h.
