The shape and some
details of Ford’s highly anticipated Mustang-inspired electric SUV are alleged
to have been revealed in a set of CAD screenshots, presumably sourced from the
actual vehicle and/or an official source. Allcarnews published the aforementioned CAD images alongside some
quickly drawn (and honestly, pretty rough) renders based on those exact
designs.
But the important thing
is here are the CADs, as if you take a look at Ford’s most recent teaser image,
you can clearly see the similarities here and our guess is that this is one
very good attempt at finding out what the upcoming Mach-E -as the rumors
suggest it’ll be named- will look like.
The sloping hood,
the side character lines and the cab-back design of the teaser are portrayed
here pretty accurately, together with the Mustang-inspired headlights and
taillights. Ford announced that the Mustang-inspired electric SUV will debut on
November 17 during a special event ahead of the LA Auto Show. The company
didn’t reveal any further details, apart from the previously known promise for
a driving range of up to 300 miles (EPA), or 600 km on the WLTP
cycle.
The Mustang-inspired
electric SUV is also expected to share some of the dynamic character of the
actual Mustang, at least that’s what Ford promises it will do. It’ll be based
on a new EV-only architecture and will reportedly be offered in both rear- and
all-wheel drive versions with different power levels. All we have to do is wait
a few weeks until November 17 to find out if these CAD screenshots are from the
real thing, unless someone is willing to spill the beans earlier than
scheduled.
