The Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition has made
a comeback for the 2020MY. Unlike the previous batch, which was limited to 80
units, production will now be capped at approximately 150 cars, and deliveries will
start next spring.
Ford’s premium car brand has already opened the
order books for the limited edition model, which starts at US$ 115,470, without
destination and delivery charges, US$ 40,000 more than the Continental Black Label
on which it is based.
Unlike the regular Black Label though, the
Continental Coach Door is 6 inches (152 mm) longer between the two axles, a
move that has opened up more space for rear passengers. Ingress and egress at
the back is enhanced courtesy of the longer rear-hinged doors, a signature
feature of a car that also packs a lot of amenities, including active noise
control, a premium sound system and wireless phone charging.
Dividing the rear seats is a full-length center
console that features a table, tablet/laptop holders, controls for the climate
and audio system, 110V power outlet and two USB ports. The illuminated door
sills and Lincoln-branded umbrellas in the doors round up the special feel of
the car.
Customers can choose between three exterior colors,
the Chroma Crystal Blue, Pristine White Metallic and Infinite Black. For the
interior, they have to settle for the Alpine / Chalet or Jet Black /
Thoroughbred, although the latter is not available with the blue shade.
As for power, that comes from the 3.0-liter,
twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 400 hp and 542
Nm of torque.
