Ford continues to improve its rugged Troller T4 off-roader in Brazil, with the automaker applying new updates to the 2020 model. The improvements are only aesthetic, as the Troller T4 introduces new combinations of exterior and interior colors, as well as new wheels. On the outside, the Ranger-based off-roader gains a new Dark London Gray highlight color which is applied to the front grille, bumpers, fender trim pieces, mirror caps, roof (including the spoiler), and trunk lid.

The new highlight color provides a striking contrast to the six available body colors, especially the solid Dakar Yellow shown in these photos. The other paints in the catalog are solid Arizona Red and Diamond White, metallic Silver Frost, as well as pearl-effect Maragogi Green and Moscow Gray. Further contrast is provided by the 17-inch alloy wheels painted Ebony Black.

The Dark London Gray accent color finds its way into the cabin as well and is featured on the dashboard, center console, side armrests, and loudspeaker frames. Standard equipment includes dual-zone air conditioning, JBL Harman Smart CarDrive multimedia system with 6.75-inch screen and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, power windows and mirrors, trip computer, alarm, split rear seats, and a waterproof interior, among other things.

Nothing changes under the skin as the Troller T4 continues to be built on a tubular metal frame, featuring a fiberglass composite bodywork. Power comes from the same 3.2-liter Duratorq five-cylinder turbo diesel rated at 200 PS and 470 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission connected to a 4×4 system that offers 4×2, 4×4 Low, and 4×4 High modes — the latter only up to a speed of 120 km/h.

As a serious off-roading machine, the T4 also packs a self-locking rear differential with Trac-Lock system, mixed-use tires, integrated crankcase and sidewall protector, double-glazed sunroof, a snorkel intake, and sealed LED taillights, among other things.

Prices for the 2020 Troller T4 start at 140,900 Brazilian Real, which is about US$ 34,130 in U.S. currency. Too bad this rugged SUV is not available outside Brazil.
