Jaguar has unveiled the company’s first virtual
electric hypercar, designed exclusively for the Gran Turismo Sport. The new Jaguar Vision Gran
Turismo Coupe is a futuristic EV hypercar that, according to the automaker, takes
inspiration from the company’s rich racing heritage, referencing the C-Type and
D-Type classic race cars.
Jaguar says that its new virtual hypercar is powered
by three electric motors for a combined 1006 HP and 1,200
Nm of torque. One motor sits at the front and the other two at the rear,
making the latest Jaguar hypercar capable of a 0-100 km/h in less than
two seconds and reaching a top speed in excess of 322 km/h.
Gran Turismo’s latest virtual electric hypercar is
built upon a lightweight monocoque chassis made from carbon-fiber composites
and advanced aluminum alloys, giving it a near perfect 50:50 weight
distribution and a total weight of just 1,400 kg. The exterior design of the Vision
Gran Turismo Coupe combines beautiful sculpted fenders with a deployable active
aero wing to alter downforce levels. The interior is focused clearly on the
driver, with the cockpit divided by a ‘bridge’ upon which sits the gear lever.
The dramatic interior architecture is packed with
cutting-edge technology too, as the electric hypercar comes with an on-board AI
system called “KITT-E”, operating other systems and providing the interface
between driver and machine.
The new Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupe will be
available for players to download in the Gran Turismo Sport at the end of
November.
