Even in its bone-stock form, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a formidable off-roader. Packing 710 hp alongside 868 Nm of torque, it zaps from zero to 100 km/h in mere 3.7 seconds and proceeds to gain speed until 289 km/h. Not bad for an SUV that weighs 2.5 metric tons, right? Perhaps – but not good enough, according to B&B Automobiltechnik.

The German tuner offers two power kits for the Jeep flagship. The Stage I kit boils down to a simple chip tune and yields an additional 30 hp with 32 Nm. The Stage II is where things get interesting. By reworking the supercharger drive, optimizing the air intake and installing a high-flow, active-valve exhaust system, the firm manages to squeeze 800 hp and 985 Nm out of the model, thus also reducing the sprint time to 3.4 seconds.

B&B Automobiltechnik has similar upgrades in stock for other Jeep Grand Cherokees, including the eco-friendlier 3.0 V6 CRD and the SRT. Further options on offer include a lowering kit (up to 50 mm) and in-house designed wheels ranging from 21 to 23 inches in diameter.
