Launched a couple
of years ago as a premium car brand co-owned by Volvo and Geely, Lynk & Co
has now started taking orders of the 03 TCR from privateers.
The touring car
racer is available in its home market, China, where customers will take
deliveries in the first quarter of next year, reports AutoNews, quoting
information released by the Geely Group last week. No pricing details
have been announced yet for the 03 TCR, whose development began in mid-2018 and
made its official racing debut at the 2019 FIA World Touring Car Cup, hosted in
Marrakech, Morocco, in April.
Tipping the scales
at 1,265 kg, driver included, it is front-wheel drive and is
powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 350 PS and 420 Nm of torque. The unit revs up to 6,000 rpm and
is hooked up to a six-speed sequential gearbox. Additionally, it boasts a wide
bodykit with flared front and rear wheel arches, centerlock wheels, custom air
intakes, and a big rear wing.
As for the 03 Cyan
Concept, which became the unofficial record holder at the Nurburgring last
month for FWD drive four-door cars, it packs a 2.0-liter turbo-four that
produces an impressive 528 PS at 7,800 rpm and 504 Nm of torque between 4,500 and 7,000 rpm. The show car needs 4.4 seconds to
sprint to 100 km/h from a standstill and has a 310 km/h top
speed.
