Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced the
introduction of a new X156 GLA facelift variant, with the GLA 200 Style joining
the GLA 200 Night Edition, GLA 250 AMG Line and and GLA 45 in the local GLA
model line-up.
Like the Night Edition version that was launched in
September last year, the GLA 200 Style is powered by a M270 DE 16 1.6 litre
turbocharged engine offering 154 hp at 5,300 rpm and 250 Nm from 1,250
to 4,000 rpm, paired with a 7G-DCT seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 8.1 seconds and a top speed of
215 km/h.
A Style Line exterior adds shiny bits to the
presentation – these include additional inserts in high-gloss chrome on the
radiator grille trim, and the beltline trim strip and the load sill guard are
also finished in chrome. Unlike the Night Edition, the Style rides on 18-inch
alloy wheels of the five twin-spoke variety.
Inside, a Style Line interior brings along black
matrix-look trim and Artico faux leather/Macapa fabric combination for the
upholstery, and standard fit items for the variant includes an 8.0-inch display
Audio 20 system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, Keyless-Go and a seat
comfort package.
Safety and driver assistance equipment includes
Active Brake Assist, otherwise known as autonomous emergency braking, Active
Parking Assist with Parktronic and Attention Assist. The GLA 200 Style is
priced at RM 223,888 (on-the-road without insurance), which makes it a fair bit
cheaper than the sportier-looking Night Edition (RM 244,888).
