Polestar, the all-electric brand from Volvo, is
shaping up to be one of the big players in the world of electric vehicles and
has already revealed two models, the Polestar 1 and Polestar 2. Could it also
do with a true halo vehicle?
One could consider the Polestar 1 as a halo car and
we wouldn’t blame them. After all, it will be capped to just 1500 units
worldwide, and has no less than 592 hp on tap. However, it’s a hybrid and
promoting an electric brand with a hybrid might not be the best way to go about
things. We’d like to see Polestar release an all-electric hypercar in the vein
of the second-generation Tesla Roadster. That’s what these renderings show.
The design comes from designer “æ®· æ ¼” on Behance and is dubbed the Polestar S Concept.
It takes inspiration from the ancient armor once worn by Chinese warriors and
is clearly identifiable as a car from the Swedish manufacturer.
For starters, the car is a two-door and features a
low-slung roof to give it a seriously sporty edge. In addition, the front end
is dominated by sharp and angular surfaces and includes a thin version of
Volvo’s ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlights that are connected by an LED lightbar. Spin
around to the rear and there are similarly shaped LED taillights. Angular
arches complete the design. If Polestar were to design such a flagship hypercar, it could fit it
with either two or four electric motors and rival some of the market’s fastest
cars
