Skoda has launched
the Kodiaq Scout in India for a price of INR 33,99,599 (ex-showroom). The Scout
variant brings a more adventurous styling and additional off-road features
among others to the Czech mid-size SUV.
The Skoda Kodiaq
Scout is identified from its exclusive silver skid plates visually divided into
three parts, the Scout plaque on the front wings, matte silver finish on the
mirrors, silver roof rails and the 18-inch Trinity dual-tone anthracite alloy
wheels. Four colour options are available, namely Moon White, Quartz Grey,
Magic Black and Lava Blue.
Opening the doors
reveals exclusive Scout sills and an all-black cabin with Alcantara leather
upholstery. Other interior highlights of the Skoda Kodiaq Scout include wood-style
decor trim for the dashboard and door panels, Scout logo stitched on the seat
covers, the Amundsen infotainment system’s welcome screen showing Scout logo
and chrome door handles.
With a length of
4,705 mm, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout is 8 mm longer than the regular Skoda Kodiaq.
Its ground clearance, as opposed to what was expected, is the same - 188 mm.
Its engine is the familiar 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit that produces 150 PS at
3,500-4,000 rpm and 340 Nm of torque at 1,750-3,000 rpm. A 7-speed dual-clutch
automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system work together to send
drive to the wheels. The fuel economy rating is 16.25 km/l.
Unlike the standard
Skoda Kodiaq sold in India, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout comes equipped with a Tyre
Pressure Monitoring System and an Off-Road mode. There’s a dedicated switch for
the Off-Road mode on the floor console. This mode tweaks the characteristics of
the engine, electronic assistants and stability control systems at speeds of up
to 30 km/h for enhanced off-roading.
