The Tata Tigor EV was available exclusively to fleet
operators and government officials initially. This week, it was replaced with
the Tata Tigor EV Extended Range. Since then, it's been available to even
private customers.
The new Tata Tigor EV Extended Range is packed with
the same 72 V 3-phase AC induction motor that produces a maximum power output
of 40.8 PS and a peak torque output of 105 Nm, and a single-speed transmission.
It benefits from a higher battery capacity of 21.5 kWh that gives it a higher
range – 213 km compared to 142 km range of the erstwhile model.
The Tata Tigor EV Extended Range is available in a
total of three different variants – XE+, XM+ and XT+. Available in two colour
options - Egyptian Blue and Pearl White, all these three variants have been
blessed with the same powertrain and standard safety features, which comprises
driver airbag, ABS, reverse parking sensors and seat belt pre-tensioners with
load limiters.
XE+
This entry level variant of the Tata Tigor EV
Extended Range is naturally a bare bones version, which only comes with basic
bits like piano black front grille, clear lens LED tail lamps, black door
handles and ORVMs, automatic climate control, driver seat height adjustment,
power steering with tilt adjustment, manually adjustable ORVMs, ‘eco’ and
‘sport’ drive modes, bottle holders in front console and door pockets and
driver information system. The XE+ variant has been priced at INR 12.59 lakh
(ex-showroom, India), but the government subsidies bring its price down to INR
9.44 lakh.
XM+
Priced at INR 12.76 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the
XM+ variant, for the additional INR 17,000 premium over XE+, adds in a kit like
co-driver airbag, speed-sensitive auto door lock, all four power windows, 2-DIN
music system from Harman with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth support.
XT+
The range-topping XT+ trim will set you back by INR
12.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and for the INR 15,000 premium it carries over
the XM+ variant, it offers 14-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured door handles and
ORVMs, electrically adjustable ORVMs and remote keyless entry.
