Benelli unveiled its 2020 line-up at the EICMA
motorcycle show in Milan, Italy, and among the new and updated models were the
TRK 502 and the TRK 502 X. The previous iterations of the motorcycles are
already available for sale in India, and the updated versions should reach
showrooms in 2020.
For starters, the 2020 TRK 502 and the TRK 502 X do
not pack a massive visual overhaul in their latest iteration. Therefore, you
would see a familiar, adventure-touring focused styling on both motorcycles
that includes a semi-fairing design with windscreen and air deflectors and a
twin-pod headlight with LED DRLs among other features. Benelli adds that the
TRK 502 gets new graphics and plastic textures for an enhanced modern and attractive
look.
The TRK 502 X gets even more changes in the form of
backlit switchgear, new rear-view mirror design with the TRK logo and new hand
grips. The new handlebar and the clutch lever are now adjustable. Further
changes include new rear pannier rack made of aluminium alloy and new seat. The
off-road-spec (502 X) version continues to feature aluminium alloy 19-inch
front and 17-inch rear wheels that are wrapped in 110/80-19 and 150/70-17
section tyres respectively. In comparison, the road-spec version features
17-inch alloy wheels on both ends that are fitted with tubeless tyres.
The 500 cc inline twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled,
8-valve (4 valves per cylinder) DOHC engine pumps out 47.6 hp at 8,500
rpm and a peak torque of 46 Nm or 4.7 kg.m at 6,000 rpm. The motor is paired
with a six-speed gearbox.
Both vehicles are built around a trellis frame with
steel plates. Shock absorption tasks are handled by 50 mm telescopic forks at
the front and a mono-shock at the back. The suspension travel (140 mm) at the
front is identical on both motorcycles. The TRK 502 X gets a longer suspension
travel at the back (45 mm vs 62 mm)
The braking hardware on both models includes twin
320 mm front discs at the front. However, the road-spec TRK 502 comes with a 4-piston
calliper, while the TRK 502 X features a 2-piston calliper. The rear-end on
both bikes includes a 260 mm disc at the back with single-piston calliper. The
TRK 502 X features petal-type discs, while the TRK502 packs conventional
rotors.
The 2020 Benelli TRK 502 and 2020 Benelli TRK 502 X
features updated graphics and panels for a refreshed look. The off-road-spec
model also benefits from backlit switchgear, new mirror design and new rear
pannier rack. The TRK 502 and TRK 502 X are available in four colour options –
white, red, blue and anthracite grey.
