Hero MotoCorp revealed a new concept motorcycle, the “Xtreme 1.R” at the 2019 iteration of the event in Milan, Italy. The new Hero 1.R Concept gives a glimpse into the future of the brand’s premium motorcycle range.

The new Xtreme 1.R Concept is a naked roadster segment product. The aggressive styling of the concept vehicle is complemented by the premium hardware specifications such as inverted forks at the front, a mono-shock at the back, Arrow exhaust, carbon-fibre lever protectors, adjustable levers and petal-type disc brakes on both wheels and much more. The concept vehicle also featured a full LED headlight and a camera at the back.

Fuel tank extensions, engine cowl and a very unique rear panel give a very appealing look to the motorcycle. The competition-bike switchgear further enhances the desirability factor. Most of the features, however, will not be available on the production-spec version. So you can bid adieu to the rear camera, race-bike inspired switchgear, inverted front forks, petal-type disc brakes, adjustable lever protectors and adjustable brake/clutch levers. Instead, we will most definitely see conventional telescopic forks, traditional (non-petal type) rotors and non-adjustable levers on the roadster. The radical styling, too, will make way for conventional body panels that would be cheaper to make. However, we can see features such as full-LED headlight, LED taillight and digital instrument console on the production-spec model.

Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that the Xtreme 1.R gives a sneak-peek at the next generation of the Xtreme range. We would like to see Xtreme 1.R-inspired design elements on the next-generation Xtreme 200R naked roadster. That,is not likely to happen any time soon. Hero MotoCorp gave a glimpse of the Euro-V compliant Hunk 200R (sold as Xtreme 200R in India and select markets), and the motorcycle does not feature many styling upgrades over the Euro-IV version.

Maybe Hero MotoCorp will continue to introduce new X-series motorcycles at the EICMA shows, and we can get a glimpse at the next-generation Xtreme 200R at the 2020 iteration of the motoring event. Apart from the new Xtreme 1.R Concept, Hero MotoCorp also announced the Rally Kit for the XPulse 200. The bolt-on kit brings several upgrades such as longer travel suspension, new seat, improved ground clearance and much more to the standard motorcycle.
