BMW will launch the new M8 Coupe Down Under in Q1,
2020. The luxury high-performance GT will only be available in Competition spec
and costs AUD 352,900 (US$ 242,493). You can bump the price
furthermore by choosing the AUD 10,300 (US$ 7,078) M Carbon Exterior Package,
AUD 16,500 (US$ 11,338) M Carbon Ceramic Brakes and BMW Individual metallic
paintwork, including the AUD 10,400 (US$ 7,146) Pure Metal Silver, joined by
several no-cost options.
The exterior design is characterized by the sculpted
body with large air intakes at the front, CFRP roof with double bubble design,
specific side mirror caps and 20-inch alloy wheels available in several
patterns.
On the inside, you have an option of carbon fiber or
BMW Individual piano black trim, Merino leather upholstery, front sports seats
with heating and ventilation, wireless smartphone charging, night vision,
velour floor mats, infotainment system, digital dials and many others. The
display key, soft-close doors, electric-operated bootlid, connected services,
DAB tuner, Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system, M Competition Package
and M Driver’s Package are also standard.
Capable of hitting 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds
and a top speed of 305 km/h, the M8 Competition Coupe is powered by a
4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 that generates 625 PS and 750 Nm of torque. It’s fitted with the M Sport exhaust system, Active M differential
and double-wishbone front and five-link rear suspension. Drivers can shift
between the Road, Sport and Track modes, with the latter sharpening everything
up, from the throttle response to the brakes, suspension and M xDrive all-wheel
drive system.
