The
third-generation 2021 Nissan Rogue / X-Trail SUV has been spotted once again
undergoing testing in the United States. Our
photographers snapped three prototypes featuring less camouflage than before,
thus giving us a better look at the new SUV. As we anticipated the last time we
saw it, the 2021 Nissan Rogue features split headlights that give it a similar
face to the all-new Juke.
The
redesigned front also features the brand’s V-Motion grille that reaches deeper
towards the bumper, and a horizontal lower grille. Seen from the side, the
all-new Nissan Rogue looks like a more dynamic evolution of the current model
thanks to the belt line that rises towards the rear, but also the gently
sloping roofline.
The
rear end brings significant updates as well, with the 2021 Rogue adopting new
horizontal LED taillights and a bigger roof spoiler that embraces the rear
screen on each side. The
interior shots are the same from the previous set, revealing a sizable
infotainment touchscreen display at the top of the center console and a
fully-digital instrument panel. On the center tunnel, we can also spot a thick
electronic shifter and a Terrain Selection dial to navigate through the
different off-road settings. Its dashboard clearly looks cleaner and more
high-tech than that of the current Rogue.
For
now, we don’t know whether the new-generation model will gain a new engine or
will carry on with the existing 170 HP 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit. However, a
CVT gearbox looks like a safe bet. Expect a significant safety tech update as
well when the all-new Rogue debuts some time next year.
