One day after revealing its first-ever Toyota tuning kit, AC Schnitzer has announced similar updates for the Supra’s sister car, the BMW Z4 Roadster. The German tuner offers a power kit for the Z4 M40i range-topper that upgrades the 3.0-liter turbo straight-six to 400 PS and 600 Nm of torque — an increase of 60 PS and 100 Nm, respectively.
AC Schnitzer will also offer engine upgrades for the Z4 20i and Z4 30i powered by 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder units. As with the Supra, the BMW Z4 M40i gains sports rear silencers with ‘Sport Carbon’ or ‘Sport black’ quad tailpipes (double exhausts for Z4 20i and Z4 30i models). To improve the Z4 Roadster’s handling and comfort, AC Schnitzer offers the height-adjustable RS coil-over suspension that lowers the car by 25 mm compared to the standard model.
Customers who only want a lowering kit can opt for a suspension spring set that brings the BMW Z4 M40i closer to the ground by approximately 15 – 25 mm. AC Schnitzer offers a similar spring kit for the Z4 20i and Z4 30i that lowers ride height by 25 – 35 mm at the front and 20 – 30 mm at the rear.
The contact with the ground is ensured by 20-inch alloy wheels available in two designs: AC3 Lightweight Forged Wheels in silver/anthracite or anthracite/silver and AC1 light alloy rims in BiColor or anthracite. Both models come with 255/30 R20 front tires and 275/30 R20 rear tires. Styling-wise, the BMW Z4 is accessorized with several aero elements that are said to improve downforce. Those include a front splitter, two-piece rear spoiler, bonnet vents, and side skirts. Finally, the interior gets AC Schnitzer’s typical aluminum treatment for the paddle shifters, pedals, footrest, and key holder.
