Lambretta
G325 Special electric scooter concept recently made its public debut in Milan
at EICMA 2019. And now we have learned that the company will bring this e
scooter to India at Auto Expo 2020 as it braces to make its way back into the
Indian market. Though the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer is yet to confirm,
word has it that it will showcase a production model of an e scooter based on
the aforementioned G-Special concept.
Now,
one is bound to wonder if the upcoming Lambretta scooter in India will ditch
its trademark classic design tenet in favour of something more modern,
especially considering that it is embracing the relatively modern concept of
electrification. We believe that that's unlikely to happen, because one of the
biggest and most compelling charms of a Lambretta scooter, besides the brand's
reputation, is the design. Sure, it won't be completely archaic, but it will
still offer that old-school charm in all likelihood.
Lambretta has revealed nothing about the
EV, including its specs and features. Lambretta
has taken a keen interest in electric mobility recently, which it also
announced at EICMA 2019. But it won't be limiting its efforts on your
run-of-the-mill EV technology; the company noted that besides working on
electric scooters and bikes, it is also investing in hydrogen fuel technology
so as to broaden its horizons in the context of electric vehicles.
