Morgan began making the Plus 4
back in 1950, so this year marks the 70th anniversary of the classic roadster.
Production of the company’s steel chassis, which has underpinned the model
since birth, is about to end, so they are now celebrating the two with the
Morgan Plus 4 70th Anniversary Edition.
Limited to 20 units, each one
features gold painted chassis, a first for the company, together with an
individually numbered plaque. The special edition model sports a Platinum
Metallic paint, satin grey wire wheels and exterior black pack.
Enhancing the interior is the
Ravenwood veneer dashboard, which contributes to the special look alongside the
dark grey box weave carpets, satin black Mota-Lita steering wheel and
leather-trimmed steering cowl and door handles. The Plus 4 70th Anniversary is
also equipped with heated sports seats, footwell lighting, sidescreen storage
backs and mohair hood cover. An exclusive Photographic Build Record is included
too.
All 70th Anniversary cars are
equipped with a sports exhaust system from Aero Racing, with ceramic-black
tailpipe. The engine is more powerful compared to the regular Plus 4s, as the
software tune by Aero Racing, allows it to produce 183 PS, up
from 156 PS, which translates to a 0-100 km/h acceleration in under 7 seconds. Each of the 20 examples destined for
production has already been reserved and will see customers paying at least
£ 60,995 (US$ 79,281/€ 71,225) in Britain, including tax.
