The introduction of the
all-new 2021 GMC Yukon last night was a good reason for the brand to preview
its 2021 lineup of AT4 vehicles. Besides the newly-announced Yukon AT4, the
2021 GMC AT4 group photo also reveals the 2021 Terrain AT4. This marks the
first time the AT4 package is offered on the compact crossover SUV and means
that every GMC model will be available in AT4 off-road flavor in 2020.
Workhorses like the Savana van
and Sierra HD Chassis Cab will not get the AT4 treatment, for obvious reasons.
As with the new 2021 Canyon AT4 and 2021 Yukon AT4, the first-ever 2021 Terrain
AT4 will feature “a rugged exterior, confident capability and advanced
technology,” according to GMC.
That’s all the company is
willing to say for now but a close-up of the group photo reveals that the 2021
Terrain AT4 will receive new LED headlights, a larger black chrome grille, as
well as dedicated alloys, black cladding on the wheel arches and doors, and AT4
badging. Obviously, the new headlights and grille are likely to be featured on
lesser Terrain models as well, not just the AT4.
The 2021 GMC Terrain AT4
should be in for some interior updates too given that this grade usually brings
more standard features as well as aluminum trim and premium fabric colors. The
2021 GMC Terrain AT4 will become available across the United States in fall
2020.
The AT4 grade first appeared
on the 2019 GMC Sierra as a package blending off-road capability with premium
creature comforts. Core AT design cues typically include rugged exterior
details, black chrome grille, fog light surrounds and rear inserts, as well as
aluminum interior decor and premium fabric colors.
