Callaway is best known for tuning
Corvettes, but they’ve turned their attention to the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC
Canyon. Both tucks are available with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 308
hp and 372 Nm of torque. While those numbers are
nothing to sneeze at, Callaway’s new SC410 package improves things quite a bit.
Designed to give the V6 trucks V8 power,
the package includes a TVS1740 supercharger, a dual pass intercooler, a
high-flow intake and a sports exhaust system. Thanks to these changes, the
engine now produces 410 hp and 542 Nm of torque –
an increase of 102 hp and 169 Nm.
Callaway didn’t say how fast the trucks
are, but noted drivers can expect improved acceleration, towing and hauling.
The company also said that “during idle, deceleration and cruising, the inlet
air path is rerouted to bypass the supercharger’s compressor section,
minimizing engine load and retaining V6 fuel economy.” Besides the powertrain
modifications, the SC410 package includes Callaway badging and a laser engraved
build plaque with the vehicle’s VIN. Other highlights include Callaway key
fobs, all-weather floor mats and a three year / 36,000 mile (57,936 km) limited
warranty.
The trucks will be upgraded at the
company’s facilities in California and Connecticut, and will be sold and
serviced through Callaway-authorized Chevrolet and GMC dealerships. There’s no
word on pricing, but the models are currently available.
