Mugen, Honda’s in-house customization
shop, has launched a range of options for the S660, a miniature Kei roadster
much loved in Japan. What’s on offer? The list begins with a gorgeous visual
carbon fiber kit that incorporates front flaps, side sills, and a huge fake
ventilated hood (the actual engine cover is at the rear end of the car, so the
front air intakes are there just for show). That said, the rear hood is also
new and made of carbon.
A large rear spoiler, superb brake lights
encased in fully transparent glass, and grey alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama
sport tires further enhance the supercar-like image. The cabin does its best to
keep up with the in-house-designed bucket seats and a squared-off steering
wheel adorned with red stitching for contrast. The camo-patterned floor mats
are perhaps the only thing that really clashes with the overall styling,
begging to be thrown out.
Unfortunately, the Honda S660 is
not available outside of Japan, and grey-importing one to Europe would cost at
least € 25,000 or € 28,000 before any customization costs.
