Marc Philipp Gemballa, Uwe Gemballa’s son,
will launch his own brand at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, showcasing at the
same time his first project in the form of a supercar that can go off-road. The
new company is named ‘Marc Philipp Gemballa’ (something tells us he won’t use
the ‘MPG’ acronym) and is not to be associated with Gemballa GmbH and its
trademarks.
The unnamed supercar in question, which
has been in development for more than two years, is aimed to offer extreme
performance from on-road to off-road and is going to be produced in limited
numbers. Marc Philipp Gemballa has not released any technical details ahead of
the Geneva debut.
The new company has partnered with brands
like KW Automotive for the suspension, Akrapovic for the exhaust, Michelin and
BF Goodrich for the tires, DS Fasertechnik for the carbon fiber, and VELA
Performance for the engineering while Alan Derosier is responsible for the
design.
Marc Philipp Gemballa will present his new
off-road supercar at a private launch event for selected clients during the
Geneva Motor Show and says that they have already accepted the first orders.
The brand launch takes place 10 years after his father’s death.
Uwe Gemballa’s 26-year-old son Marc
Philipp has worked for Aston Martin, Mercedes and Porsche in the past. His new
company aims at offering special vehicles in the ultra-high luxury segment,
leaving the era of tuning behind. It was last June when his father’s company
Gemballa GmbH teased their own bespoke supercar that promised to offer well
over 800 HP.
