Skoda has released a new video teaser with
the sporty compact with plug-in hybrid power. The range-topping model of the
fourth-generation Skoda Octavia comes adopts electrification, a first for any
Skoda RS model. The model combines a 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged four-cylinder
petrol engine with an 116 PS electric motor for a system
output of 245 PS and a maximum torque of 400 Nm.
No performance specs are offered but Skoda
says the Octavia RS iV is projected to emit around 30 g/km CO2 over the WLTP
cycle. Furthermore, it can cover up to 55 km in all-electric mode
thanks to a 13 kWh battery pack.
As with its predecessors, the
fourth-generation Skoda Octavia RS looks more dynamic courtesy of a beefier
body kit, black bodywork elements and a sporty interior design. Exterior
highlights include a black Skoda grille, dynamic front apron with black Air
Curtains, and a rear apron with Aero Flaps and a matching rear diffuser in
sporty black.
Other distinctive elements are the
dedicated bi-color alloy wheels housing red brake calipers as well as the black
RS deck lid spoiler (Saloon) or body-color roof spoiler (Combi). Something the
eyes can’t see is the standard sports suspension with RS fine-tuning for a more
dynamic handling compared to the standard Octavia.
The interior is predominantly black with
colorful highlights provided by the contrasting stitching on the sports seats
with integrated headrests and leather-covered three-spoke multifunction sports
steering wheel.
