The Toyota Crown is a typical Japanese
premium saloon that has gone through 15 generations on its domestic market
while remaining relatively unheard-of in the other countries. It used to be
Toyota’s flagship executive car in Japan before the Century, but continues to
sell well even after losing that status. Now, Rowen International suggests a
way of bringing it even closer to perfection with a styling kit.
The ‘RS’ package takes care to enhance the
visual aesthetics of the saloon in just the right places while preserving its original
design philosophy. Like the Crown itself, the kit draws much of its inspiration
from the Lexus LS and ES. Up front, the four-seater gets a neat spoiler with
LED DRLs, while the rear end gets a diffuser, a small trunk lip, and a roof
fin. The sides stay stock.
The show car depicted here additionally
boasts a sports-grade exhaust system with quad tips, as well as lowered
suspension and new wheels. The result looks so good it makes us regret that the
kit is never going to be available outside of Japan.
